From its inception, Enterprise Web Developer (EWD) has presented a development approach that is focused much more on the designer than the programmer. As such, it flies in the face of what appears to be conventional wisdom which positions web application development as, first and foremost, a programming-oriented task. With the Model View Controller (MVC) and Data-binding underpinning pretty much every one of the major web application development toolsets, the absence of these two core concepts within EWD can seem pretty startling and disorienting to anyone used to "mainstream" thinking. In this presentation Rob will explain the philosophy behind EWD's unique design-oriented development paradigm and will outline the benefits that derive from the EWD approach compared with what he considers to be the pitfalls and limitations of the conventional paradigm. |
